Further proof that Riptide is good at picking winners and promoting talent comes with the announcement of the shortlist for the prestigious Edgehill short story prize. Collections by two of Riptide’s authors, Tom Vowler and Graham Mort appear on the list of five.
Tom Vowler’s story, ‘ The Method’, which is the title story of his collection (published by Salt and which won the Scott prize in 2010) first appeared in Riptide Volume 3. Graham Mort’s story ‘Yusef’ appeared in Vol.4. His collection Touch is published by Seren.
This year’s prize has three categories – the main literary award of £5,000, the £1,000 Readers’ Prize and the Edge Hill University MA Creative Writing Prize of £500.
The winner will be announced at an award ceremony at the Blackwell Bookshop, Charing Cross Road, on 7th July.
